IS lesson 3

Well ,you all must be wondering what lesson 3 is all about. Well , it is about html. Does it stands for hot tasty milo? Nope! Does it stands for hit my laptop? Nope! It actually stands for Hyper Text Markup Langauge.

Let me elaborate a little. Html is actually used to design our website, even this beautiful blog of mine is made up of the code typed out by someone. Well, trust me, it is extremely hard to type everything out yourself. It requires super good memory and skill to type everything out. Once a mistake is made, you have to check through everything just to find this small little mistake. It may take hours to complete this task. I talk from experience. I had once tried to type the html for my blogskin, but unfortunately, I made a small little mistake. I could not identify this mistake so I got so fed up that I cancelled the whole thing! This is a very good example. The people typing out html must have extreme patience.

The main point is, without this special coding, beautiful websites would never be made. We all have much to thank those who helped to type out every single word of html painstakingly. As time goes on and on, people seems to enjoy only the website design, completely disregarding the person who typed html out. This is a very meaningful lessons to me. It teaches me to appreciate what others have done for the better future. This is all for now! Wait for my next post!

Remember not to take this beautiful designed websites for granted!

2nd lesson WOW

Just watching the video clip already surprises me! No one knows whether there will actually be a human computer interaction, using voice! However, I think human will be over reliant on that system which is brought to us. We should appreciate the way of life as it is now. Although we all should work hard and invent new technologies to bring us convenience, we cannot be lazy and stop working once we achieve that goal.

There are a million of things, perhaps more than a million to invent! When human invent the human comouter interaction system, we cannot think that this is the end of inventions. That is not the final invention. There should not be a final invention. Humans cannot be given to much convenience because we will then think that this is enough. Laziness will overtake our passion to invent new things and gadgets.

Now for the talk about IS lessons, I have only one wish to make. I really hope that IS lessons will be longer, at least by 10 mins. The things we learn there really help us. We learn more about technology! We learn about blogging! We learn about all sorts of things. But, most importantly, I learn to never give up as there is always a solution to a problem!

PS : IS lessons also help us in character development!

The true definition of IS ( 1st Lesson)

Of course everyone knows that IS is Infocomm Studies but not everyone knows what the true definition is all about. This whole blog will therefore be dedicated to tell and educate everyone to truly know the true meaning of IS.

I will start by talking about my first lesson first. Firstly, I was introduced to my teacher and we started on lessons. I have learnt that all websites have IP addresses but they are somewhat ''minimised'' to form domain names. For example, www.google.com also has an IP address. Imagine whenever we need to search something using google and you have to type out all the numbers! Therefore, this system have provided us with much convenience.

Next, did you all know that the Internet was actually a networking project which aims to allow scientist all around the world to communicate and share different informations with each other. It was finally functional at September 1969.

Before out Internet was so fast, it actually was extremely slow as the computer modem uses a standard telephone line to connect to the internet. I remembered my parents once telling me that the dial-up process was very tedious so another note for you all, treasure the Internet given to you now. Do not become frustrated just because it lags.

Finally, lets discuss about web 2.0 and web 1.0. Leaving out those who attended lessons with me, I bet most of you do not know the difference. Here, web 1.0 is maintained by only 1 person which then post and passes information to everyone who visits the website. The viewers cannot change the website content so information is somewhat ''feeded'' to them.

But, web 2.0 provides a wider range of information as anyone can change the content of the webpage and post any useful information. Examples are the much used Wikipedia and Facebook. Anyone can post useful information onto the webpage so you can learn information posted by others and at the same time help others by posting information yourself too!

REFLECTION

As for my reflection, I guess everyone can guess from the title of my blog that I am quite interested in IS. I like IS as I like the very feeling I get when I learn something else like web 2.0 and the origin of Internet because then I will actually understand what browser I am using when I go to the Internet. Another reason is that I want to learn more and post more information about the Internet so that more and more people can learn about it.

I think that everyone should know that we can go to google so easily without typing numbers for IP address is because someone made that change. We should all study about this and make changes to things which we feel can improve further. But we must have the knowledge first so everyone treasure the IS lessons we all have so as to strive for a better future!
